Major Archaeological Discovery on the Seine-Nord Europe Canal Route

A significant archaeological discovery has been made at the Beaurains-lès-Noyon site in the Oise department. Preventive excavations, conducted in connection with the Seine-Nord Europe Canal project, have uncovered a vast medieval cemetery containing 546 burials. This find, made between January and early September 2026, represents a considerable contribution to the knowledge of this period.
