Archaeological Excavations at Thiais Cemetery

Thiais Cemetery, located in Val-de-Marne, will be the site of archaeological excavations in December. This intervention follows the prior discovery of the forgotten graves of eighty-nine German soldiers.
These works aim to deepen historical knowledge and identify any other traces of the past. The approach is part of a process of recognizing and preserving history, even for distant events and forgotten individual destinies.
The accuracy of the information resulting from these excavations is crucial for completing archives and honoring the memory of the individuals concerned, regardless of their nationality or their role in past conflicts. It is an essential contribution to understanding funerary and historical heritage.
