Stéphane Bern Launches 9th Edition of Heritage Mission

August 31, 2026, marked the kick-off of the ninth edition of the Mission Patrimoine, an initiative dedicated to the safeguarding and enhancement of French heritage.

Stéphane Bern, an emblematic figure in heritage advocacy, officially launched the event. The ceremony took place at Le café de l'Abbaye bar, in the commune of Thiron-Gardais, a location chosen for its local roots and symbolic potential.

On this occasion, Monsieur Patrimoine participated in a symbolic act by scratching a lottery ticket, thereby emphasizing the popular engagement and concrete dimension of this fundraising effort for restoration projects.

This new edition aims to continue the efforts undertaken for several years to identify and finance the rehabilitation of endangered sites across the national territory. The Mission Patrimoine is part of an ongoing approach to raise awareness of the richness and fragility of France's historical and cultural heritage.
