Mary Cassatt at Musée d'Orsay: Beyond Stereotypes

The Musée d'Orsay is currently hosting a retrospective dedicated to the artist Mary Cassatt. This exhibition highlights the various dimensions of her work, moving beyond the image commonly associated with paintings of mothers and children.

An American established in Paris and a prominent figure of the Impressionist movement, Cassatt is also presented as a master engraver. Her commitment to the feminist cause and her passion for Japanese prints are lesser-known aspects of her artistic career that the exhibition aims to reveal.

This presentation offers an opportunity to rediscover an artist whose contribution to the art world is significant, emphasizing the complexity of her journey and the extent of her influence.
