Restoration of the Dragon Fountain and the Nymphs' Bath at the Palace of Versailles

The Dragon Fountain and the Nymphs' Bath, two iconic features of the gardens at the Palace of Versailles, are currently undergoing an extensive restoration project. These 17th-century masterpieces, located in the northern parterre, have seen their sculptures and bas-reliefs meticulously cleaned and repaired to preserve their historical integrity.

This conservation effort focuses on restoring the elaborate gilding that had faded over time, returning the monuments to their original splendor. The project also addresses the technical systems of the fountains to ensure the functionality of their water displays.

Visitors will be able to witness the completed restoration in April 2027. Once finished, these historic fountains will regain both the brilliance of their golden surfaces and the complexity of their original hydraulic performances.
