Selection of Sites for the 2026 Heritage Mission

The ninth edition of the Heritage Mission has selected six emblematic sites in the Centre-Val de Loire region. These monuments will receive financial support as part of this initiative dedicated to safeguarding French heritage. The announcement was made this Monday, August 31, 2026, underscoring the importance of preserving these places for future generations.
Among the selected sites are a church and a castle, representing the architectural and historical richness of the region. These edifices are often silent witnesses to major events and the cultural evolution of our territory.
A smokehouse and a unique greenhouse have also been chosen, illustrating the diversity of noteworthy heritage structures. These elements reflect specific aspects of social or economic history, offering insight into past ways of life.
The wall of a remarkable garden and the house of an iconic novelist complete the list of the six selected sites. These choices highlight not only built heritage but also landscaped natural spaces and living places that have shaped French culture and literature. The Heritage Mission thus continues its work of valuing and preserving collective memory.
