Film on D-Day Meteorologist Presented in Deauville

The Deauville Festival recently hosted the premiere of "Pressure", a film directed by Anthony Maras. This feature film sheds light on a crucial, often overlooked event of World War II.

The film recounts the true story of James Stagg, a meteorologist whose expertise played a decisive role in the Normandy Landings. His forecast of a severe storm led to the decision to postpone the operation.

Initially planned for June 5, 1944, D-Day was shifted to June 6 thanks to Stagg's analyses, thus avoiding weather conditions that could have jeopardized the entire undertaking.
