Angoville-au-Plain Church

Two US medics treated Allies and Germans alike inside this church.

Robert Wright and Kenneth Moore, medics of the 101st Airborne, turned this small Romanesque church into an aid station and treated over eighty wounded from both sides, plus a child. Bloodstains remain visible on the pews, and two modern stained-glass windows honour the paratroopers.
