Remains of the British artificial harbour — a logistical feat of the Landings.
To supply the troops, the Allies assembled an artificial harbour off Arromanches in just a few days: Mulberry B. Phoenix caissons and floating piers enabled the landing of 2.5 million men and 500,000 vehicles. The remains are still visible at low tide.
