Over 21,000 German soldiers rest beneath the dark headstones and the central tumulus.
Managed by the Volksbund, La Cambe is Normandy's largest German military cemetery. The central tumulus covers a mass grave of 296 soldiers. A peace garden of maple trees extends the site, dedicated to reconciliation.
