Polish War Cemetery, Grainville-Langannerie

France's only Polish war cemetery, 696 soldiers of the Maczek division.

This cemetery holds the graves of 696 soldiers of the 1st Polish Armoured Division killed during Operation Totalize and the closing of the Falaise Pocket. Rarely visited, it recalls the decisive and long-overlooked Polish contribution to the Battle of Normandy.
